AS 748
A true rarity is this AS 748, which was released under the Ebauches
Trust label, too This movement draws not only attention because of its
unusual size, its very small bimetal screw balance or its geneva stripes, but
mainly because of its digital time indication.
Direct read watches were not invented in the 1970ies, when they became
truely propular, but also before World War II, there were a number of
wristwatches with it (and even before that, pocket watches had this
kind of indication, too), but such tiny watches
were not very usual.
The quality of the direct read mechanism can be seen on the fact, that the
change of the hour numbers takes only two short minutes. Only watches with
jumping hour are faster there.
