Citizen 580087

Citizen 580087

This movement is a rarity - it is one of the smallest ever produced electromechanical movement. In contrast to many of its rivals, it works without electric contacts, since the coil is statically on the plate, while the permanent magnet is located on the balance.

Movements of this type were produced for a very short peroid of time only, in the middle of the seventies, before they were replaced by the mechanically much simpler quartz movements with stepper motor.

Unfortunately, there's no information of this movement anywhere on the web - even the pages, dedicated to Citizen-Cosmotron watches don't show any information about it.
