Everbody knows the Spezichon movements from Glashütte,
but not many people know its success, the Spezichon caliber,
which was produced between 1978 and 1985 only a few
100.000 times. With 28.800 bph and its rather small size,
it was compareable to the popular swiss movements of that time.
The most noteable difference was the sound of the selfwinding
mechanism, which was by far more pleasant, than the sound
of other more populuar movements. The drawback was, that the 11-26 is lacking
a finetuning mechanism.
If the sources are correct, then the 11-26 was reworked after
the end of its production and was revived as caliber 10-30 in
1993. And, as everybody knows, the 10-30 was pretty much
reworked, too, and was the base for the Glashütte-Original
Caliber 10-39. (Source:
