Description

The Guba B1050 from the manufactury with the half escapement wheel as hallmark is a 10 1/2 ligne movement, which was launched in the early 1950ies.

It was available in different versions, the one shown here contains an indirectly driven center second, which is beared under an own bridge (on the specimen shown here, the gear to drive the center second is missing, unfortunately).

On this movement, all gears are pretty large - the minute wheel for example, has got almost the same diameter, as the mainspring barrel!

The construction is a pretty standard one: The golden toned screw balance has got its hairspring fix connected to the balance cock and its effective length is controlled by a long regulator arm. As shock protection, two Super-Shock-Resist bearings are used. The escapement lever contains two pallet stones and crontrols a conventional lever movement. The escapement wheel has got to cap jewels on its bearings.

The shape and angelation of the bridges give this movement a nice visual appealing!

On the dial side, there's a small surprise: The minute wheel is jewel-beared - a detail, which is not found on many watches! Together with the two escapement wheel cap jewels, it reaches a total of also rather unusual 20 jewels!

Besinds this, you can see the yoke winding system on the dial side.
