Description
In the 1950ies, Junghans produced the caliber J 99/1, which bases on the caliber J 99
but contains an inhouse shock protection system.
This form movement in ladies' size is a bit bellied, still uses 15 jewels and contains
a swiss pallet anchor escapement.
It has got a rather cheap rocking bar winding mechanism below the dial - a detail found
on many cheaper pallet anchor watches of the fifties. Technically a yoke winding mechanism
is more elaborated and long lasting and can be easier maintained, but on the rocking bar
mechanism used here, there's a helpful detail: The click spring can be moved away without
removing the detail, thus allowing the watchmaker to release the mainspring.
