Description
The mid-size caliber 048/76 by Kienzle was one of the several models of the
48 caliber series, which was often used after WW II, especially in a little larger
ladies' watches.
The model 76 has got only the feature of the decentral second at "6", besides
this it is a pretty standard pin lever movement.
On this model, the pins are made of metal, so the seven jewels of this movement
consist of four jewels of the inhouse shock-protected balance, two jewels
of the lever bearing and one jewel of the balance finger. In terms of
quality, this movements is a mid-class pin lever movement.
On the dial side, there's the usual construction with rocking bar winding
mechanism, directly driven minute hand and the large spring, which is used
for the rocking bar and the click spring. Pin lever and escapement wheel are
easiliy to service by large gaps on the plate and the balance wheel is secured
on this side only by a vertically effective spring.
