Laco 900 / Timex M82

This movement is one of the smallest electromechanical movements, ever produced. It was produced from the mid-sixties and put into tiny Timex Lady Electric watches. The Timex code for this caliber was M82.
The movement was so small, that the also quite small battery, consumed about a third of the place and since it was located at position "12", the movement was asymmetric.
In contrast to later Timex Electric movement, this one was a sophisticated construction, with a Laco shock protecion, a regulator tail and eight jewels. The electricy was lead over a tiny contact to the balance with its small coil.
Because of the expensive construction, the advences in electromecanical and
electronic movements and the fact, that Timex watches were never seen
as expensive watches lead to the fact, that this movement was pretty
rare and disappeared 1975 from the market. Simple electromechanical
movements watches from Timex were made a few years longer, but they were
assembled in Taiwan and a "Made in Germany" was never seen any more on
Timex dials.
