Description
The movement shown here is stamped as "SYW 230", which is completely unknown to the
literature. A colleague identified it as "Geneva Sport 230".

This movement with a diameter of 10 1/2 lignes is made in standard quality and represents
the technical state of the early fifties.
The (unfortunately!) not shock protected balance with screws, whose hairspring is fix connected to
the balance cock and can only be regulated in its effective length directly by the hairspring
key, controls a traditionally constructed pallet lever movement. On this movement, the minute gear
does not run in lewelled bushings, but the escapement wheel has got two deck jewels, which leads to
a total of 17 jewels in this movement.
The SYW 230 has got a decentral second hand as "6" and besides this only displays hours and minutes.

On the dial side, there are no surprises, only the setting lever spring is of an unusal
shape, which makes it even more surprising, that this movement is not shown on any of the
Flume Werksucher. Because of this, it can't be identified with 100% certaincy.
