Brac 190

Description

The large Brac 190 is a remarkable pin lever movement, which offers many surprises.

At first glance, you will notice the extra large mainspring barrel, which is even constructed in an overhung position. This will guarantee a good torsional movement and also a flat size. Another reason for its size is, that there’s no second wheel on this movement. To compensate this missing reduction, the mainspring needs to be longer.

The second highlight of this movement is the unusually constructed indirectly driven center second: It consists of a very flat gear, whose outer teeths are driven by the outher theets of the fourth wheel.

Furthermore, the Brac 190 wastefully deals with bearing and cap jewels - no wonder, since it was neccessiary to achive the advertising-prone number of 17 jewels.

Last but not least, there’s a simple but effectfully constructed yoke winding system on the dial side. Normally, this is a sign of better and more expensive movements.

To sum it up, the Brac 190 is a really interesting pin lever movement, which is far above the rest of standard pin lever movements.
